Birth and Postnatal Doula Support and Hypnobirthing Courses centred around YOU!

Hello lovely!

It's amazing to have you here, welcome!

I'm Charlotte, a Birth and Postnatal Doula, Hypnobirthing Specialist and Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. Basically, I tripped and fell down a hole into birth work in 2021, after the birth of my two daughters, and have yet to find a way out (which I'm quite happy about!). I absolutely love a good brew (Yorkshire - obvs - bonus if it comes with a side of delicious cake and birthy chat). I enjoy live music, musical theatre and you’ll often find me having a dance around the kitchen or spending time in nature; be that gardening, walking or paddle boarding - anything that involves soaking up greenery and sunshine - I'm there!

Anyway, enough about me...how can I help you?

Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are transformational, it changes you in ways you never imagined. You might feel anything from joy and empowerment to fear and uncertainty – all of these feelings (and a lot more!) are completely normal.

My priority is always you, your wants and needs. I'm here to support you, without judgement, in the ways you want and need. Whether this is your first baby or you've walked this path before. I'm here to support you in the easy, but especially in the trickier, moments. The times when you're so tired you're googling "can I die from sleep deprivation?" and "is this normal?". I'm here to be steady source of support that you can rely on and trust every step of the way. I've been there, I get it, and I'm here for you so you feel less overwhelmed and alone on your journey. Like you're thriving, not just surviving, during the wild ride that is pregnancy, birth and parenting.

Birth and Postnatal Doula Support

Being asked to support you during your transformational time of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum is a privilege and an honour. I don’t do this for the love of babies, I do this for the love of mothers and parents. Because if you feel supported and held, your baby has everything they need to thrive. I'm pragmatic and no fluff, blending evidence-based information, practical tools and a compassion-first approach helping you navigate this time in your life. Whether this is your first baby or you’ve walked this path before, I'm here to be part of your trusted support team so you can feel safe to be completely honest about how you feel. I'm here to offer you reassurance, information and a judgement free space when you share your worries and wins. I'm not here to save you (you don't need saving) or tell you what to do. I'm here to be your birthy cheerleader, helping you feel like the absolute queen you are, during one of life’s biggest transitions. I've got your back and I believe in you every step of the the way.

I offer:

  • Birth Doula Support — bespoke information and empowering emotional and practical support throughout pregnancy, labour and birth that helps you feel like an absolute birth boss.

  • Postnatal Doula Support — practical care, emotional reassurance and information and an extra pair of hands as you adjust to life with your baby.

"Charlotte is a professional, kind and warm person who made us feel at ease. Her practice is neither information overload nor touchy-feely nonsense but is instead a balanced mix of science and statistics where necessary sprinkled over a base of skills and information on empowerment, self-care and preparing us for the arrival of our baby." Dick

"The sessions were relaxed, varied and interactive and we learnt so much. I hadn't known much about Hypnobirthing before we started but it all made sense with Charlotte's guidance."

I've been invited to speak about how Hypnobirthing and Doula support can benefit parents' birth and postnatal experience by national retailers including John Lewis and Newbie and Me, as well partnering with Baby Week Leeds and Leeds Dads at their regular and annual events in Leeds.

What exactly is Hypnobirthing anyway?

The name 'Hypnobirthing' sounds a bit airy-fairy, but it is actually evidence-based and logical birth preparation education teaching you the science of birth, birth mindset, breathing and relaxation skills and tips for making informed decisions during pregnancy and for birth.

The techniques I share, and you then practice, will teach your body how to develop automatic responses to instinctively trigger deep relaxation. And when you relax this helps your baby relax too.

As far as body conditioning training goes, this is as soothing and empowering as it gets!

Hypnobirthing skills can be used to achieve a positive birth experience in any setting, be it a Caesarean birth, in a hospital setting or at a home birth. The courses are open to you and your partner (if you have one), after all this is a family affair!

This is about empowering you to build trust and confidence in your body and your birth choices, deciding what is right for you and what your own personal route of least stress is.
